The Food.
It always comes back to food.
Some of the best times of my life have been set in the all-consuming chaos of busy kitchens, the laborious quietude of farms and gardens, and those all-too-fast moments where a perfectly seasoned bite of food brings a full-body wave of pleasure, peace, and satisfaction.
This page is a small sampling of photos I’ve taken from moments like the ones mentioned above. They’re from cooking classes I’ve taught, catered events I’ve led, and years of offering personal chef services. Some were taken just for the fun of it.
I know the world wants us to think “healthy” food is bland and listless, but this view is based on a narrow, rather shitty perspective of health. We need flavor in our food that brings us joy as often as possible. We also need nutrient-dense foods that nourish us. It can be challenging to figure out how to do both, but that’s what we can work on. In the meantime, enjoy!
